A publicist career is glamorous. Publicists get to travel, interview celebrities and are always the first to publish interesting drama in todays society. A career as a publicist is full of adventure; you never know what interesting, breath taking story you will stumble upon.

While publicists may sometimes assist famous people, a career as a publicist is not as glamorous as many people think. Good publicists are always aware that they are not the person in the spotlight; rather it is their job to work "behind the scenes" to make sure that their client receives media attention.

A publicist is responsible for promoting their client. There are alot of mundane administrative tasks involved, but the job can be exciting if one represents a celebrity.

Hollywood has very much glamourized this position, but in general the answer is no. Generally, you are writing promotional pieces and booking various appointments.
