Yes. If you have an active infection it is contagious and transmitted through skin to skin contact. The infected area should be kept covered and other appropriate measures taken.

MRSA, or methycillin-resistant staph aureus, is a bacterial infection and is contagious. However, it is transmitted by direct contact, so how likely you are to get it depends upon where the infection is and the kinds of contact you have. Outside of hospitals, MRSA is usually spread among groups that have close physical contact (e. g. wrestlers or football players).

I am sorry to hear about your roomate. MRSA is a very highly contagious staph infection. Take every precaution to not come in contact with your roomate. The infection is generally spread from skin to skin contact. There is an over-abundance of bacteria involved with this type infection. Take care to ensure all mutual areas are clean after any contact.

Yes MRSA is highly contagious. Avoid touching anything your roommate has touched. Also until the infection has resolved make sure to clean surfaces very well to avoid catching the infection

MRSA is a bacteria that can be passed from person to person. However, many people are around or even carry MRSA without getting infections.
