MRSA pneumonia is caused by Staphylococcus aureus, a bacteria that is highly resistant to antibiotics. This occurs in people with compromised immune systems, especial those in medical settings.

MRSA is methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus, a big name for a tough bug. This bacteria is no longer susceptible to the antibiotic methicillin, meaning it is harder to kill. Often after people get sick or are hospitalized, their immune systems are depressed and they are more likely have infection, especially after being in a hospital.
