A marriage contract can be a legally valid document as long as it is properly executed. The contract can state who owns or control assets during and after a possible dissolution of marriage, but cannot specify unenforceable things like not having children or ending the marriage after a certain period of time.

This depends on the form of marriage contract. A pre-nuptial contract is legally valid if not coerced, if both parties had legal representation, and it was signed more than a month before the wedding. A post-nuptial contract is not valid in most states. A marriage contract written in another country is typically not enforceable.

Marriage between two people is recognized by the law. Contracts, other than the marriage license, drawn up between the two parties are legal as long as both parties consent.

A marriage contract is legal in almost every sense. It combines all past, present, and future actions (specifically financial actions) to both parties. Thus, any and all debt that may have existed as individuals becomes combined into a single entity. However, it does offer several legal benefits to those involved with it, most notably the inability to testify against spouses.

Presumptively, yes. If both sides give something in exchange. In contract law this is called "consideration". While you could not use a marriage to force someone to marry you, you may be able to use it to collect money for any expenses you may have incurred. There may also be damages for subjective hurt.

If you had a lawyer draw up the papers, it might be. You would have to check with a lawyer to see for sure.
