You should have in mind that no computer is truly "Safe" once it is connected to the internet. Your child needs to be taught to identity potential predator behavior, and to abstain from shady activities in the internet. Teaching them about internet safety is the best tactic.

You can make any computer safe for kids from predators to use with the software that is built into the operating system to block kids form going to particular websites, also you should watch your children and see what they are doing.
