Raw bones are great for dogs. Cooked bones ARE NOT. The occasional rib treat is fine and will be a nice change of treat. Just remember, no cooked bones.

You can give your dog short rib bones if they are not cooked first. Cooking them will cause them to splinter.

It should be fine for a dog. That being said, while he eats it, watch carefully and make sure to take it away if the bone starts to splinter.
