In the WWE, what ever happened to Paul Bearer?

After he left WWE, he left the business and returned to the funeral business. He still appears a wrestling shows and legends shows from time to time and he occasionally appears for WWE, but for the most part he is done with the wrestling business. His wife of 30 years passed away earlier this year.

Paul Bearer sustained a lower back injury in 1994 and subsuqently retired. Last I heard he was selling cars and timeshares.

The now 55 year old former wrestler and manager Paul Bearer,whose real name is William Alvin Moody is reportedly working fulltime in the funeral business. Moody who goes by "Bill" has 2 sons and 2 grandchildren. In January of 2009 his beloved wife of over thirty years Dianna died after a lengthy battle with cancer.

There is not much information, however from what I found out he went on to do NWA and then he seem to retire in Florida. So, I am assuming that he is either no longer wrestling or is doing a private venture that is not related to wrestling. I agree with you he was a pretty good wrestler.

In the WWE, all the performers are under contract. Paul Bearer's contract expired and he was released. While he was well-liked, the WWE decided that the Undertaker didn't need anyone in the 'manager' role, so they let Paul Bearer go.

Bill "Paul Bearer" Moody was killed off by Kane in a WWE storyline in late 2010. He is currently under a WWE legends contract and is eligible to make appearances for the company from time-to-time.

Paul Bearer retired from WWE in the year 2000 from on television performing. He became a back stage manager, an on road agent and a talent scout for WWE and then retired completely in 2002. He has made several appearances on and off tv from 2005-2010.

In Octomber 2003,he signed a new three-year contract with WWE Jim Ross contracted him about rejoinnig the company,Paul at first refused the offer.Jim Ross then called again with a offer.At that time he was suffering from health problems.

Paul Bearer had weight issues. Reportedly, Vince McMahon paid for gastric bypass surgery in 2001. Paul works at a funeral home and has now returned to WWE.

Paul Bearer retired from the WWE (and the wrestling business in general), but is still in very good standing with the organization. Believe it or not, he actually works in the funeral business today!
