The US Army is the main ground-force of the United States. The cut-off age requirement for joining the military force in US is 42 and minimum age is 17.

As of three years ago, the cut off age is 40 years old for the US Army. The other branches still have a cut off age of 32. And the physical requirements are the same as for an 18 year old with the usual clean police record and education requirements.

You will find that each branch of the US military has different cut off ages for service. You will also find that cut off ages are different depending on whether or not the person chooses to go in as an enlisted personnel or officer. In general it's 17-42.
