I'm not a twin expert, but since twins have 2 separate hearts, I would assume they also have separate heart beats.

Not always, in a twin pregnancy both babies are individuals with their own individual make-up, including their heart rates and other physiological attributes.

No they are not, heart rates will vary for many different reasons. While the heart rates will be close they will not be the same, boy heart rates are faster than that of girls.

I am 20 weeks' pregnant with twins. I have had at least six heartbeat checks with Doppler and/or ultrasound. Only one time did the babies have identical heart rates.

Each baby will have different heart rates. One can be faster, or slower than the other, so don't be worried. And some can have very similar heart rates.

They're not usually exactly the same. When your doctor goes to hear the heartbeat they can often tell there is twins because they can hear two different heart beats. If you were pregnant with a boy and a girl generally the boys heart rate would be lower than the girls, as girls heart rates are usually on the high end.

It is not the same because the babies are in two different amniotic sac.One baby can have weaker heartbeat than the other one.
