You will have to disconnect the positive cable for 30 seconds and reattach your cable. From there if you turn on your SUV then the computer will reset itself. If it does not reset you may need to change the sensor button which can be done at any auto supply store.

The best way to reset it is to use a code scanner. Another option is to unhook the battery for a few minutes. This will reset all electronics though.

The computer has nothing to do with a fuel pump. If the pump won't work check the fuse, relay and the inertia switch in the rear hatch. If a light IS on, continue driving the truck through 75 key cycles to automatically reset the light.

To reset the computer after changing the fuel pump disconnect the negative battery terminal for at least 30 seconds and reconnect. You may also need to reset the fuel pump safety breaker, located on the passenger side kick panel under the glove box. The location will vary depending on model.

If you have a code reader you can sometimes use that to reset the computer. Otherwise remove the ecm fuse or remove the negative battery cable for a few seconds.

computer should not need resetting but if you must you can remove positive cable from battery for 60 seconds then replace. also some models you turn key to run position and back to off repeating five times will reset computer. if still wont reset you must take to a garage and have it reset with a scan tool.

All Fords have codes that can be cleared with a special code reading tool. There is usually an auto parts store in the area that will do that for free. Since the parts store that supplied the fuel pump didn't offer you can disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to complete the task.
