You want to work on your explosiveness with the basic power lifts like squats, deadlifts, and bench presses. You may want to to some clean and jerks as well. Work on your side lateral movements as that is something that you will be doing on the field all the time.

All football players need good endurance, so any cardiovascular exercise will be helpful for you. As for anything particular to your position, there are two things that you should do. One is to build strength; you can do this through weight training. The other is to improve your lateral movement.

Football drills would be tackling, and for weights, I would recommend leg press, squats, bench press, military press and shoulder press.

If you are going to play middle linebacker, then you have to be the perfect combination of speed, power. To increase your power, you will need to do weight training to strengthen your arms, legs and chest. To increase your speed, you can run in sand at the beach, in a swimming pool, or with a parachute on your back.
