If you don't claim a car on insurance does it still show up as a DUI?

The car I got my DUI in is not on my insurance, will they still know about the DUI?

Any tickets you receive go into a police record database. This record is available to all auto insurance companies when they search on your name. It does not matter whose car it was in, only whose name the ticket is in.

A car does not get charged with DUI; a person does. That charges will show up on that person's record and ultimately become an issue when the insurance company finds out when the individual's coverage is up for renewal. Very often the court requires the individual to secure risk insurance as part of the provision of maintaining a driver's license.

Your insurance company will obtain your motor vehicle history report, which will contain a record of the DUI. The fact the car is not on your insurance does not matter.
