How do you get short-term car insurance?

I want to get my own insurance on my rental car.

If you desire, you may obtain separate coverage from your rental agency. However, this is not a very good financial deal. If you have your own auto policy, you will have coverage for your rental car and should review your policy, or contact your agent, for coverage specifics. If you don't have your own policy, get it when you rent.
