Yes, if you have diabetes you can have hyperlipidemia or high cholesterol as well. These are two conditions which are independent of one another. Diabetics have a hard time regulating the amount of sugar in their blood while those persons with high cholesterol either consume a lot of high cholesterol foods or have bodies that do not process cholesterol efficiently.

It's definitely possible. Together, these two conditions are a recipe for a bad heart. If you are diabetic you have to be intentional about controlling your cholesterol because they have been linked. Diabetes seems to affect cholesterol levels and cholesterol can be an indicator of diabetes. Elevated cholesterol levels are often seen in people with insulin resistance.

Yes you can, though not because of your diabetes. If you are concerned that you have high cholesterol, then you should see your doctor and he or she will set up a test for you to make sure you don't. If you do, then you will have to talk to your doctor and see what they recommend.

Yes. Diabetes is a malfunctioning of the pancreas cells that produce insulin. High cholesterol is too much fat in your blood. Being overweight can cause diabetes so it is very common to have both at the same time.
