I have a trailing, potted vine that is lying on the patio. Is this okay?

This should be no problem for the vine, as long as it is in an area where it is not likely to be trodden on by humans or pets. If they are in the way it might be better to lift the trailing parts of the plant onto a trellis, either attached to the wall, or freestanding in the pot

The biggest problem with having a potted vine lying on the patio is the risk of people accidentally stepping on it. If you can, hang your vine on your railing to keep it out of the way.
