I have a fake Rolex. How do I determine if it has automatic movement or a battery?

Fake Rolex watches have the same Swiss movement as real ones, but you will not find the documentation on the fake. Also, repair shops can detect the fake immediately. But as far as a novice is concerned, a good fake looks and moves like a real one.

Take your fake Rolex to a jeweler. Fakes are often far more delicate (cheaper made) than the real thing and it's better to have a professional open it with his or her tools in a jeweler's bench.

There should be a removable back cover on the watch. Carefully take that off and you should be able to see if there is a battery case.
