I am being sued by my employer for not finishing a contract, what should I do?

You might want to get an attorney. If there has been no discussion with the employer, perhaps you can resolve it before it goes to court. Otherwise, you may have a monetary judgment against you for not only the fees, but the damage caused by the project not being completed.

You need a lawyer. He will have to examine your contract, you better have a copy of it available. The lawyer will be able to advise you from there. You will probably either... pay for contract violation, settle out of court, finish the work they required or counter sue based on the contracts loopholes.

Just tell your employer there was a misunderstanding and you will be more than happy to finish the contract. If you are clearly in the wrong make it right. You may want to apologize first and then if you were paid upfront give some of the money back and make sure you follow through so he can drop the lawsuit.

First you need to respond to the lawsuit and hire an attorney. If you are working as a pro se litigant you will need to file your answer with the clerk in which this civil matter was filed. Your response to the suit will be either admittance or denial of the allegations, or possibly both if there are several allegations.
