It should include a clasp on the back to hold it in place. They are similar to stud earrings in how they work. A few are also magnetic, but these usually don't hold very well.

It is better to have a hole pierced in your nose like your earring holes, so that you can use the screw type nose studs, which can be tightened. They will be available in any Indian jewelry shop. For using pressing type of studs, make sure it reaches at least half way into your nostrils and press it properly.

Please opt for nsoe stud in 'threaded design' instead of clamp type. Also remove and clean the stud once in while.
