First thing is to find type of video card your computer supports. Once you find out what type of connection it uses (PCI/AGP/PCI-E/Other), you can purchase a replacement from a reputable vendor and simply open the case, remove the old card and install the new one.

If it's onboard, you can just install a compatible card in an available slot. If there's a separate card reomve and put in one of the same type.

If you are upgrading from PCI to an ISA style, find a PCI slot to insert it into. Reconnect the monitor and plug in the computer. If you see a display, it works.

Well first you need to figure out what kind of card is in your pc. Then look online for one that is the same style. Then install it along with any drives that came with it.
