you need to expell more calories than you take in, but be safe about it. eat healthy and work out. remember that its not going to happen overnight though.

Drink lots of water! If you're not drinking much water, your body retains it because it thinks it's not getting any more any time soon. Drink plenty of water and it'll start passing through your system and not holding it. Also lots of cardio exercise such as jogging or swimming helps drop pounds fast.
