Start by holding your hand in the cage until it's used to that. Be patient. Once it's used to that, hold it INSIDE the cage until it's comfortable. So on.

Talk softly to the hamster. Offer it treats and leave your hand hand in the cage. Play with him on a daily basis. Be patient and persitant. This will take time but will be worth it in the long run.

Be patient and every day put your hand in his cage so he can get use to you. Eventually touch him and pet him carefully. He will soon be tame.
