The first thing you should do is make sure that both the DVD and the player's lens are clean and not scratched (a scratched lens would probably not be worth repairing). You could also adjust the brightness and contrast settings to see if maybe there's a picture just very dark.

The first thing you'll want to check with anything electronic is that it's getting power. Does moving the cord to another socket help? Swapping out the battery? Then try a different disc to see if it's just the one you're using that's the problem.

Check the CD for any finger prints or oily film on the surface. Purchase a laser cleaning disc and use it in the player.

Try checking the manufacturer's site; if it's a common error, they may have an answer on a help page, or perhaps even a FAQ page. If not, contact the manufacturer, either by e-mail or by phone; they may also have a specific technical support e-mail/phone number that you may call.

Plug in the dvd player and make sure it is receiving power. If the machine is getting power from the outlet try out the buttons on the box to make sure the drawer for the disc opens up, powers down, powers up. Place a dvd in anc close. Test Laser.

Well if it is not working then make sure you restart it over again. Uninstall all the plugs and take it out from the television set as well. Then realign all of the plugs again and see if its working. Turn the dvd on and off and see if it works.
