If your dog is scabbing, then fleas are way out of control. Your dog needs professional treatment, and it may not be just fleas. I love Frontline and Advantage.

I would use a flea shampoo first and if you can find it; use an oatmeal based flea shampoo. This will condition the skin to treat the irritation as well as fight the nasty fleas. After that, I would use the gel flea medication between the shoulder blades to prevent further infestation. Be sure to treat your home, too!

You should use a product that kills fleas and their eggs. Use Frontline or Revolution, they are most effective. Once the fleas are killed the scabs should get better.

The best method for treating fleas on your dog is by using a liquid that is applied between your dogs shoulder blades. The application is easy with little mess. If your dog has scabs its source is most likely due to a skin irritation. Allergies or chemicals can trigger itching. Monitor your pets contact with hosehold chemicals and consult your veterinarian.
