How should I repair a deteriorating service entrance cable?

Can I do this myself?

Doable, but be careful. Safely disconnect main hot incoming wires. Identify each color wire's path and diagram it, replace each to code or better. Reload circuits individually to test.

The service entrance cable is the wire running from the weatherhead to the meter. The property owner is responsible for any repairs made to this cable. I would not recommend doing this yourself, unless you have experience with electrical work. Though it might be fairly easy to replace, you're still dealing with electric current.

It is possible to do it yourself but this is a very hard task to do alone. My brother redid his and had the help of my father.

The cable must be repaired, but not necessarily by you. Maybe is your provider company than has to to this. Call them as first thing.
