I think electric toothbrush heads should be replaced every two or three months or so like regular toothbrushes. I had an electric toothbrush for a while and would change it around that timeframe as a rule of thumb.

I only replace mine 2-3 times a year. They seem to last longer than the average toothbrush and they are more expensive. A dentist might say otherwise, but I wouldn't do it until it gets really soft.

Electric toothbrush heads should be replaced every 3-6 months. The heads will usually show some wear in that the bristles tend to become weaker and appear warped. Electric toothbrush heads can be replaced by model and make. Toothbrush heads can be found at your local drug store or even Wal-Mart.

All tooth brushes should be replaced every 3 months, this includes electric toothbrush heads. The only exception to this would be if they have a self cleaning mechanism, and in that case they should be changed every 6 months, or sooner if the bristles are showing signs of wearing or bending.
