The baby should be getting somewhere between 26-32 ounces or so of breastmilk or formula, so it would depend on how much the baby is getting during each feeding. If he is getting 6-8 ounces per feeding, they should be nursing about every 4-6 hours during the day. The baby may not wake at night to east.

An eight month old baby will still need to nurse about five to six times a day. Breastfed babies eat more often than bottlefed babies.
