How much will it cost to replace a vanity top in the bathroom?

The cabinet and sink don't need to be replaced.

That depends on the size of the vanity top. It can run from either $200 to $3000 depending on quality, make, and model. Also, you can get generic or fake brand names for much cheaper than the real deal, and although the quality is less, the untrained eye can never tell the difference.

It depends on what sort of surface you want. Laminate is usually only a couple dollars per sq foot, while granite costs $100/sq ft or more. Installation is extra.

A slab of marble or granite will cost 50-100 dollars a square foot. New mica tops run about 25-35 a foot. Tile will run about 10-25 dollars a foot.

If "you" do it, about $50 to $100 for new counter top (from a "big box" home improvement store), and about $50 in tools & materials. If you hire a carpenter and/or a plumber, probably a few hundred dollars.
