How much will it cost to replace a bathtub?

I'm thinking this will be too much for me to afford right now.

To replace the bathtub alone without installation can run you anywhere from $180 to $600 for a normal tub. If you want a jacuzzi tub it will cost you a lot more. Also adding a tub enclosure will add another $100 to $200. If you have someone put it in then figure another $500-$1000.

depends if you're talking about replacing it with another tub, or shower pan. If you're replacing the tub, you'll also need to replace your tile. Coincidently, I'm currently doing a bathroom remodel. A replacement tub will cost about $250. A shower pan is about $150. We just purchased 16" x 16" ceramic tile for the wall for $100.

The bathtub wouldn't be the issue. It's what you will find after you have removed the tub. Mold, water leaks, replacing wood beams. If it ain't broke leave as is.

I imagine if you are doing this yourself it would cost less but if you are going to have it fitted by a company then there would be labour charges of possibly around $1500 upwards. Most good bathtubs cost between $200 and $6000, but that is for a walk-in tub.

If you are just looking to remodel your bath tub and you don't need to actually replace it you could call bath fitter or re bath and they will come to your home and give you an estimate on how much they will do it.
