This is a fairly simple thing to fix. It will take a plumber about 15 minutes to replace it. So you should probably pay between 30-50 dollars or so.

You can expect to pay between $50 and $80, plus parts. Handy or not, replacing the valve is simple and easy, and a whole lot cheaper.

In my history of plumbing, I would offer this service as a complete toilet rebuild, which could run as much as a new entry level toilet.

I have never had to have the toilet flush valve replaced, but I suppose that I would have to pay somewhere between 200 and 300 dollars for the valve and labor.
