It would first require a high school diploma and at least two years of undergraduate studies. Then you can apply and transfer into one of the 16 Chiropractic schools in the U.S. In Chiropractic school you will have about 3.5 years of formal education. This will include clinical work and 4-5 board exams. Afterward, you can take state certification exams.

Chiropractic school is a four-year program that follows a baccalaureate degree (four years). Chiropractic school is generally three years of classroom/clinical instruction with the fourth year spent as an internship under supervision. There are 21 chiropractic schools in the U. S. so competition is stiff. A DC degree requires ongoing continuing education.

Most chiropractors are doctors and most have been to school for at least 6 years. Some of them attend post graduate school for the remainder of their life and also at later points pursue additional degrees in the medical field. Some chiropractors also do surgery and many of them have been to school for ten years or more.

To be accepted to a chiropractic school, you need to have completed a minimum of two years of college. A four-year degree is preferred. Chiropractic school is 4 years, and then you have to pass both state and national exams before you can begin to practice. Once you're a chiropractor, continuing education will keep you abreast of new methodology.
