You should take 1 teaspoon a day. However it would be a good idea to ask your doctor what they would recommend, since flax seed oil could interfere with other medication you are taking

It is recommended that adults take adults take 1000mg of flax seed oil one to three times daily. Some studies have shown it to be safe to use up to 30 grams daily without side effects.

In order to get the health benefits of flax seed oil you should consume at least 2 tablespoons a day. More may have a laxative effect.

Normal dosage of flaxseed oil for an adult would be 1 to 2 tablespoons daily. If you are using just flaxseed, it is best if it is ground before eating. Normal dosage for an adult of ground flaxseed would be 2 to 4 tablespoons daily either at one time or split up throughout the day.

Well that depends on what kind of bird you are. If you're a hummingbird or a golden finch, you're too small for flax seed so forget it. But if you're a woodpecker or crow, about 1/2 cup should do...

Very amusing answer, LanDroid; but not very helpful or intelligent. 1-2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil per day seems to be the consensus of opinion. On the days you eat fish or other omega rich foods, use less.  add a comment
