Chances are, buying your cat will be the cheapest part. You need to put food, a cage for bringing it to the vet, toys, treatment when it gets sick, etc. Like a human, the cost varies a lot based on how sick it gets and how much you love it. Anywhere from several hundred to thousands of dollars.

Its difficult to put a price on how much it costs as there are so many variables which can include if your cat has any medical problems, but for a normal healthy cat you would have to assume about $60 a month which would cover all food and extras.

I would probably say about $5000 a year or more. I purchase about (2)-(30) pound bags of cat litter. Cost me each about 15 dollars a bag. I have taken him to the vet about 4 times this year & each visit was about $250. Also food & that is about 10 dollars a bag. So it can add up.
