How much carpet cleaning solution is required for a 9x12 area?

I would have to say that it would depend on what exact cleaning machines your were using and what kind of solution you were using as well. I personally installed flooring for sixteen years and came across a product called "persuasion" and it works wonderfully for spot removal and general cleaning.

Refer to the label of the cleaning solution as well a the manufacturer's directions for the appliance. Not all machines have the same requirements.

You need to read the instruction on the cleaning solution. I have a Bissell Cleaner and 1/2 gallon of cleaner and have done three rooms that measure 8x10, 11x14 and 9x12 and still have half of the bottle left.

It depends on the product as well as the machine you're using to clean the rugs. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
