There is typically some bleeding after insertion. There is cramping and bleeding from the insertion. Then there is some ongoing bleeding as your body adjusts to the IUD. You can have a light flow off and on for a few months.

About the amount of a normal period. IF it bleed perfusely you may have a perforation. For any significant bleed see your doctor.

After intrauterine device insertion you are expected to see mild to moderate spotting with abdominal cramps. This situation can normally last up to a month. However massive bleeding or clots or prolonged bleeding should warn doctor's attention to rule out other possible complications which include infection, mass or trauma to uterine wall.

i had my iud mirena on the 2nd July 2012and to is 20 today still mild bleeding no pain is it normal and its difficult to feel it not sure if its there,my partner check for me cant reach myself is it normal like that
