How many wild horses are left in the world?

Even in our modern age, there are still hundreds of thousands of wild horses left in the world. They can be found on every continent excpet Antarctica. Although their numbers have dropped considerably in the past few hundred years due to development and expansion of human civilization, domestication and environmental changes.

A truly wild horse is one whose ancestors were not domesticated. Based on this premise, the only species of wild horse remaining is the Przewalski's Horse. The are small free ranging herds in Asia, about 248 head. The rested accounted for remain in zoos. The total number that are believed to be left is about 1500.

There are far fewer wild horses in the western world that there are in the eastern world. I would imagine places like arabia and other middle eastern countries would have many more wild horses than the western world. I have no idea as to an exact number of horses left in the wild, but I would be curious.

Well i know of one rather large herd of wild horses in Colorado! They are in Cameo near the Grand Junction exit! I went and saw them and they are beautiful! There was all kinds of horses in the herd! There was some Paints, some Arabians, some Apaloosas, some Roans etc..!

No one is sure about the number throughout the world because most countries don't keep a good tab on the numbers. However, in the United States the Bureau of Land Management assumes there are about 30,000 wild horses left on public lands. They are in threat of becoming extinct.

horses are losing number fast. they used to be important for a good reason but now we use them for all the wrong reasons. alot we use for making glue. i hope this will stop soon or there will be none left.

then how can i get the exact answer?! i know that there are about 35000in the US.. but how can i know if there are 100000 or 5000????

There are a lot, but yet not a lot. There are many left, but as we speak too many are being sold to glue factories and such. So eventually if we don't stop then they will be gone.
