Using the average stride length for women (2. 2 feet per step), and for men (2. 5 feet per step): For women, it is 2400 steps per mile, and for men, it is 2112 steps per mile.
One mile is equal to 5280 feet. So if you walk heal to toe it will talk 5280 steps to reach one mile. If you walk normally however it will take you around 2000 steps to walk one mile.
Walk ten of your normal walking steps, get a tape measure and measure how many feet that is. Divide 5280 feet by the number of feet in ten steps and then multiply by ten. Example. 10 steps =20ft. 5280 divided by 20= 264. 264x10 =2640 steps in a mile.
