To know for sure you should check to see the average file-size of you camera pictures. Copy some pictures to a pc and look at the sizes. Take the average size and divide the actual drive capacity to estimate the amount of pictures that will fit. The actual drive size is always slightly smaller than the advertised disk capacity.
