They are A LOT. There are twelve pair of cranial nerve in your head, and they form branch and innervates everything on your head, and many of those of your bodies. Nerves supply every muscle every organ of the body. Even when you don't have voluntary control over some part of the body, nerve will still be there.

There is actually only one single nerve running throughout the entire body. That nerve, however; branches off billions of times all over the body. Instead of calling them nerves we should refer to it as nerve endings.
