A metre is close to a yard long (so three feet and a bit); ca. 39 3/8 inches. There's about 91.5 Centimetres per yard. There are many, many tools you can use to do the conversion including, handheld calculators or websites that can do it for you. The Metric System is also known as "System International" (SI).
