How does a K2 meter work?

I am new to ghost hunting and would like to understand how a K2 Meter helps to detect the presence of ghost.

A K2 meter detects electromagnetic fields. You take the device and point it in a direction of your choosing and the electromagnetic waves will be caught if there any present. If there are none present the device will not show up any detections of electromagnetic waves present at all. I hope this helps.

K2 meter supposedly detects electric discharge that is believed to be released by ghosts. Making it very tricky to use, since any electronics, especially big ones emit electricity for some time even when turned off.
