A baby's eye color may change as his/her body begins to produce melanin. This usually takes 6 moths to a year, but can take as long as three years.

It can take anywhere from six months to a year for a baby's eyes to change color. The change will be gradual, so if the baby is going to have brown eyes, they might go through a period when they have hazel eyes.

Most of the time eye color is set by about two or three years of age, and many babies' eyes don't change after six or nine months. However, some people will see an additional change at puberty, and some will even have eyes that change several times over the course of their life.

It really depends on the infant. Sometimes it can take longer, up to about 2 1/2 - 3 years and sometime not so long, up to about 1 year. Additionally, eye color can change as the child grows. When I was 18 I noticed that my eyes had started looking more green than the normal brown.

Everyone says it takes about a month or so. But my 13 yr old was born with dark brown eyes and they stayed that way. My 9 yr old son and 7 yr old daughter were born with blue/gray eyes and the color never changed for both of them.
