There really isn't a set courting time frame before a couple get married. He may be comfortable with the relationship as it is and probably doesn't feel like it's necessary to get married. Let him know how you feel and see if he feels the same way.

This varies wildly from relationship to relationship. Some couples get married after only dating for a few months; others wait several years. If you think that you're ready, you need to let him know. He may want to marry, but be nervous about asking. Have a frank and open discussion with him about marriage, and you will know more.
