I know you don't want to hear this, but if you dyed your hair black, it will not fade. You will have to get it professional stripped or bleached!

It generally takes four to five weeks for dyed black hair to begin to fade. The fading will show more in the roots than anywhere else. You should recolor your hair every four or five weeks. If you are trying to get rid of the black color, you should redye it a different color.

Washing it with regular shampoo everyday it will fade totally out in about a 2 months. Without washing it out everyday than it could last for 4 months. Normally it lost a long time unless you actually try hard to wash it out with shampoo every day in the shower.
