A black eye will go through phases as it heals. As it heals, the color will begin to fade into blue or light brown and appear to spread onto the face. Depending on the severity, the time it takes for a black eye to completely heal can take up to a month.

It can take anywhere from five days to a week and a half, depending on how healthy you are and how well your body can manage to repair itself after injury. Things like putting ice on a bruise might help it heal faster.

It can take up to two weeks for a black eye to disappear, unfortunately. The blood must reabsorb into the body and this can take some time. There's not much you can do to speed up the process, so just try to be patient. The good news is it won't leave a lasting mark.
