Considering that slime molds are a kind of fungi, they could reproduce with the use of organic material, could live without sunlight and through spores. And their optimum environment could be in a sod area where it is warm, dark and overly moist or wet due to watering from above.
Thanks so much. I had a dead maple tree removed and 1wk later laid new sod and the area where the tree was removed is covered beneath sod with slime mold and the grass in that area is dead. Any advice add a comment
