In the NFL draft, there are seven rounds, and in each round, each NFL team gets to select a player. As a result, they earn the rights to sign the player. The players typically come from major universities across the nation. High school players are not allowed to sign with an NFL team right out of high school.

Players in US College who either qualify as either juniors or seniors are eligible to be drafted by NFL teams, which takes place in April. The draft order goes as follows: worst team gets first overall pick, second worst team gets second overall pick, etc. There are seven rounds in the draft.

Essentially, all senior and junior players who play in the U. S. College football are eligible to be drafted by NFL teams, in the order they finished.
