In essence an electric motor works using opposite charges. I coil of wire is placed inside a magnetically charged sleeve. The opposing charges cause the assembly to spin.

As far as I am concerned, an elctric motor is a machine that transfer the electricity energy to the kinetic energy, and then it could work.
