Without vents, a washer dryer combo will convert it's steam to air and disperse through the environment, not heating up your house while it is working. It is the wave of the future.

Ventless dryers use a new system. The dryer heats the air inside the drum, which picks up moisture. Then it runs over the cooler of a heat-exchange system. The water condenses out (in some models you have to empty a container) and the air is reheated and sent back into the drum. No air is discharged from the machine.
