A tremolo pedal is used by an electric guitar. The pedal is connected by a guitar cable to the guitar and then to either an amplifier or a head set. The pedal has adjusting knobs on the unit to create a setting and then the user steps on the pedal.

I have only seen these used with guitars, but I am betting that you could hook them up to any instrument that uses a quarter inch cable. It pretty much vibrates the sound being emitted from the amplifier so that is sounds like it is wobbling. I don't really like it, but some people do.
