the size of the wire should be 10/3. in the main panel you should have 30 amp breaker. the outlet should hold 220 volts

Match rating on dryer to rating on circut 30 or 40. Wire 8 guage/10 guage depending on dryer. Pull wire from panel to receptacle placement. Install outlet per package instructions.
